Creative Blog- Creative Direction, Branding and Design Projects
brief: create a make-believe, spoof, satirical campaign based on serious issues that need to be tackled. the problem: sexual harassment within the workplace, particularly in large corporations. the campaign: I wanted a very non catchy, long tagline (ironically, of course) and so inspired by the quite literally ridiculous #NotAllMen hashtag, I came up with this *little beauty. *long I used a classic 'corporate' style graphic to really bind the branding together. here we have a PDF staff guide to sexual harassment and how to not do it. I really wanted to use the dichotomy of very corporate graphic design with very NOT corporate wording. so I did. all these questions (or statements, in some cases) have actually been said in real life by real human beings, probably on many occasions. so the fact that the answers are so glaringly obvious makes me slightly scared for humanity. there's nothing quite like a super long hashtag on a billboard to really bring the message home. after googling mens' slogan t-shirts and then instantly regretting it, I thought I'd make some new ones that help support this cause. you know, instead of the ones that constantly encourage shit behaviour and make awful men seem normal. these are perfect for 'dress down friday' and are a reminder to your colleagues that you're not a twat. the fact that these seem so ridiculous really helps to spell out the problem, I feel. not convinced with this being enough, I decided to go for a range of women's workwear shirts as well. these serve as small yet fierce reminders of what behaviour is actually acceptable in the workplace, despite what many think.
part of me very much wants to own one of these shirts and actually put them into production but hey, this is just a satirical portfolio campaign for now. let me know yo thoughts, don't @ me, it's just art based on a very serious issue that I'm trying to bring attention to. I mean well <3 BYE #creativedirection #creative #copenhagen #styling #fashionstyling #graphicdesign #design #layout #branding #campaign #advertising #advertisingcampaign 12/31/2018 07:11:56 am
"You deserved being harassed because you showed like it by the way you dress." That is one of the sentences I really hated whenever their are issues on sexual harassment. First, females are allowed to wear whatever they wanted to wear as long as they feel beautiful by wearing it and if they are comfortable for it. It is not the job of the women to keep on track their closets in order not to be disrespected by men. I am not just into female side, but yes I do agree that men were also experiencing sexual harassment. It is just that they keep on the silent mode because if they accuse someone that they are being harassed, they will be getting lot of side comments. Comments are closed.
