This collection represents developmental trauma and how it fragments our memories, skews our perspectives and turns joyful, playful things into more sinister matter. It plays with how our mind interprets events through a different, more ominous lens. It demonstrates our mostly failed attempts at embodying joy and innocence, depicting these moments instead as eerie and odd. It takes the ordinary and unthreatening and paints them with complexities and messiness that we only hope one day we can untangle and make sense of, with an added overriding sense of foreboding.
