this weekend I was too tired to do any actual work (and it's nice to have some time off sometimes, right?) so I decided to snuggle up with the ipad and experiment with some super fun apps.

oh hello frens and welcome to my next creative challenge.
I wanted to try using more different mediums with this challenge and hey, I love music so I figured I'd design an album cover for a fictional band in each of 5 genres. oh the fun! I wanted to do a wide scope of styles so I picked these 5 lucky babies: indie, metal, folk, trance and jazz. hello, my pretties.
this one's been ongoing for a while but I got totally carried away with ideas and wanted to share. I got given a brief which was this: BRIEF: a new vegan restaurant concept; American or Australian with vegan junk food (burgers, pizza, ice cream, etc). will it end up as an actual restaurant or live a sheltered life in my portfolio blog until the end of time? who knows. but for now, here are my initial concept ideas for a Copenhagen vegan restaurant with an American or Australian kinda theme. brief:
create a brand from scratch while tackling a current problemo the problem: too much waste, too much plastic packaging being thrown away. rumours about recycling not ACTUALLY being recycled. lack of fun unicorn themed beverages. the brand: REUSACORN- an organic fizzy beverage in a reusable unicorn jar. no plastic straws, no packaging, just a reusable jar dressed as a unicorn! it can be reused for beverages with the lid and straw or used as a fancy vase without; either way it injects some sparkle and fun into every day life while helping to save the planet. WHAT A WIN. brief: create a make-believe, spoof, satirical campaign based on serious issues that need to be tackled. the problem: sexual harassment within the workplace, particularly in large corporations. the campaign: happy friday and oh it's stage 5
I did not plan to do one of these a day but hey, I love pressure and it's happened. this is based on an instruction manual and includes all ma contact details. good evening and welcome to stage 4
I decided to go full out fun and colour for this one; taking inspiration from a pastel colour palette and kawaii style drawings. hellooo and oh it's stage 3
this one had a bit of a journey, ha! I started off with the idea of a bank advertisement but I wasn't feeling it, plus I wanted to play a bit more with typography. I stuck with the number theme though, loving them puns. oh hi and welcome to stage 2
stage 2 gives a brief overview of my skills, experience and latest education. I chose inspiration from high end fashion editorials for this; using a lot of white space, a telling quote, elegant typography and photos that capture my style and 'essence'. fancy. hello once again, frens.
it's time for the second creative challenge and this time it's with the purpose of helping me find work, here in sunny (for now) Copenhagen! brief:
I have 30 minutes to plan, photograph and edit photos based on United Colors of Benetton, using only things that I currently own and the same plain white wall as a backdrop. I will pick clothes, apply make up, style my hair, pose and edit in a style that I think captures the essence of the brand. well, if I've ever misjudged a time limit, it's now. Haaaaaa. I really wanted to do more on this so I went over the time limit buy about a million hours. I managed to get the red and yellow ones done within the 30 minutes though. win. brief:
I have 30 minutes to plan, photograph and edit photos based on The 1975, using only things that I currently own and the same plain white wall as a backdrop. I will pick clothes, apply make up, style my hair, pose and edit in a style that I think captures the essence of the brand. argh, this was the most challenging one yet! but I wanted to branch out and do something a bit more risky and difficult. mission accomplished. brief:
I have 30 minutes to plan, photograph and edit photos based on Levi's, using only things that I currently own and the same plain white wall as a backdrop. I will pick clothes, apply make up, style my hair, pose and edit in a style that I think captures the essence of the brand. oh my, I had a lot of fun here. High waisted jeans, red lippy and ya gal's happy. brief:
I have 30 minutes to plan, photograph and edit photos based on COS, using only things that I currently own and the same plain white wall as a backdrop. I will pick clothes, apply make up, style my hair, pose and edit in a style that I think captures the essence of the brand. whooah this one pushed on my time limit! my aim was to airbrush out all my tattoos... I realise I have one entire sleeve left but yanno, I have a lot of tattoos and only 30 minutes for a brand challenge. the other day I had a *giant brainwave (*slightly fab idea) that would be lot of fun whilst also ticking these three boxes:
1. push my creativity and styling skills 2. build my portfolio 3. improve my SEO (oh yes) I decided to set myself some creative challenges and post the results right here on this little blog. |
