Creative Blog- Creative Direction, Branding and Design Projects
As Tim cruises further into the new realms of original music that have slightly less comedic value and a bit more of the moody feels, I thought this would be a fun opportunity to create all the visuals that represent this transition and share how I would take on this task and implement the new Tim-aesthetics. I wanted to delve in further than I do with indie artists; accepting the wonderful and inevitable fate that is 'branding' an established artist with a bigger budget who has more in depth needs when it comes to staging, website and styling. Here I can demonstrate how I take things to the next few levels (plus I had a hoot, didn't I). I started right here: collating some images that I feel represent 'new Tim', a bit moodier, largely monochrome, blue tones, moody beaches, flicky hair and the showing of raw emotion, right into the soul. This gave me a platform to build and develop from. Next, I developed that shizz. I swerved away from the old black and white stark, high contrast vibe and went to a more smooth, greyscale thang. I added in lots of natural textures that follow on from the moody beach feels. Varying textured fabrics provide a raw, organic feel, neutral shades and splashes (whether water or hair) make up this newfangled vision. I want the final aesthetic to be serious and moody but not without quirk, fresh, raw and layered. For the website, I did a big clean refresh: I went more minimalist, using grey and earthy tones. It's still packed with info but it appears calmer, contemporary and oh so grown up. Plus, the FAQ in that font gives me life! Of course, a font palette is necessary and here it is! There's quite the variation of styles but they sit together beautifully and this rebrand is the perfect place for them (imo). I've going to leave you with some logo options and the oh so earthy colour palette but I will be back! I want to delve deeper into types of poses, fashion styling and stage design... More Tim to come, gang!
BYE for now xx
